Starring Tiger Shroff, the official trailer of Baaghi 2 just saw the light of day, but the story doesn’t feel as original. On a glimpse of the trailer, and anyone who has ever seen TV will know that the film is a rip-off of the the Rambo series. With stunts right out of The A-Team, The Expendables and First Blood, Baaghi 2 is Tiger Shroff’s attempt to ape Sylvester Stallone.
My take in one line for the trailer can be summed up with a dialogue that Tiger mouths. “Jo tera torture hai, woh mera warmup hai.” I’d say: “Jo tera trailer hai, woh mera torture hai.”
And if you’re wondering why I haven’t mentioned Disha Patani yet, it’s because she’s barely even there in the trailer. Looks like she’s made a guest appearance in the film, which is why she just fades into the background of the trailer.
Oh, but you know who shines in the film’s trailer? Surprisingly, Randeep Hooda and Manoj Bajpayee. Bajpayee plays a high-ranking officer in Baaghi 2, who seems to be corrupt and gets in the way of Ronnie (Shroff) who is looking for Patani’s daughter. Hooda plays an unlikely ally to Bajpayee. Don’t miss the funny banter where Bajpayee asks Hooda while he poses for a selfie, “Khud ki Le Rahe Ho?!”
Prateik Babbar’s blink-and-miss appearance in the trailer seems to have more range and expression than Shroff’s entire Baaghi series till now.
Tiger Shroff may have a chiselled, glistening and agile body but the face still seems to be lacking when it comes to emotional suppleness.
