Additional deputy commissioner Shena Agrawal on Friday instructed officials to ensure participation of all private and government schools in the rubella and measles vaccination campaign starting from April 23.
The ADC chaired a meeting with heads of government and private schools along with officials from the health department and said that it is the responsibility of every school to play a proactive role in the campaign.
She also said that the three-week long campaign would cover 12.5 lakh children in Ludhiana district. In the first two weeks of the campaign, the school children would be covered while remaining would be administrated the vaccine in the last week, the ADC added.
Agrawal also said that that the schools should ensure that all the students falling in the age group of nine months to 15 years should be covered under this campaign. She said that stern action would be taken against the erring school management.
