Samsung Gave Away 200 FREE Galaxy Note 8 Devices on Flight

Ahead of the IFA 2017 event, Samsung had officially unveiled the Galaxy Note 8 smartphone. It is the successor to the fire-prone Galaxy Note 7 which the company recalled after several reports of explosions. By the end of 2016, all the major carriers around the world have put restrictions on carrying Galaxy Note 7 on their flights. A few airlines even banned carrying the handset onboard. Now in 2017, the Galaxy Note 8 went on sale, and the company reported record sales in most of the major markets.

While everyone seems to have forgotten about the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco, Samsung Spain now remembers about the ugly incident by offering 200 FREE Galaxy Note 8 devices on an Iberia IB514 flight. The device comes with a special branding with Iberia and Samsung logos. The letter handed out with every free device also translates to “A year ago we asked you to turn it off, we welcome you today on board.”

Even the company offered free snacks in Samsung branded cups for everyone. None of the passengers might have expected to get a € 1,0oo smartphone for free on their flight from Madrid to A Coruna. The Galaxy Note 8 is available in both single SIM and dual SIM variant in Spain. Unlike the U.S variant, the Spanish variant of the Galaxy Note 8 comes with Exynos 8895 processor. After the Galaxy Note 7 incident, the company came out with the 8-Point Battery Safety Check process.
