It is an undeniable fact that our state has forever been engulfed in the dungeon of drugs and the amount of youth that stands addicted at present is way more than it ever was. Punjab’s youth is getting involved in drug abuse and substance abuse, which was also shown in films like Udta Punjab and more. Such movies turn out to be an eye opener for many but we also have to accept the fact that the problem of substance abuse is increasing at an alarming rate in our country. Youth are an easy prey to this problem.
But seems like celebrities are joining hands to eradicate the problem from not only Punjab but the entire nation. It is the spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar from Art of Living who has now taken up an initiative to eradicate drug abuse from the country. Many celebrities joined hands with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s fight against drug addiction. Legendary singer Gurdas Maan, Rapper- singer Badshah along with comedian–producer Kapil Sharma, and Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt joined hands with him for this initiative. These men were at the Chandigarh University to give out a strong message to the youth of Punjab.
This event which happened in Chandigarh University was webcasted and over 60,000 youth from different colleges across India witnessed it. Badshah, who was also there at the event shared a picture and captioned it saying “An energetic launch to the #DrugFreeIndia campaign. Rain tested the students’ resolve in the beginning, but they stood their ground until sunshine returned.25,000 students took the pledge in Chandigarh. 1 crore across 12,000+ colleges are taking the pledge and joining us in our fight against drugs. Proud and honoured to be a part of this nationwide movement. Thank you to all the amazing students of Chandigarh university who wholeheartedly came out and supported this noble cause. Can’t be more proud of the fact that the campaign started from my city CHANDIGARH. It’ s high time now. NA KARUNGA NA KARNE DUNGA “
This post by the man looked quite motivating.
It is great to watch that celebrities are now inspiring and guiding the youth to walk on the right path. We are surely done with alcoholic songs and now the youth should be inspired to work towards a real Drug-Free India.
