When the whole nation was glued to the television, watching updates of the airstrike on Balakot in Pakistan, film production companies in Mumbai thronged the Indian Motion Pictures’ Producers’ Association (IMMPA) to reserve titles for films based on the surgical strike.
According to reports, the representatives of at least five production companies rushed to IMMPA to reserve the movie titles.
From Pulwama: The Terror Attack and Pulwama Attack Versus Surgical Strikes 2.0 to Surgical Strike 2.0 and Balakot, many titles have already been snapped up by production houses.
According to data provided by a trade magazine, other titles include War Room, Hindustan Hamara Hai, Pulwama Terror Attack, The Attacks of Pulwama, With Love, From India, and ATS – One Man Show.
Talking about the confused environment at IMMPA, a source told a news portal, “After a point, they started discussing amongst themselves, suggesting variations of the same title.” He added, “It was quite a sight.”
Taking a cue from the success of Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike, production houses don’t want to give away the chance to cash in on the rising tension between India and Pakistan.
India launched an airstrike on the biggest Jaish-e-Mohammad terror camp in Pakistan on February 26. Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility of the Pulwama suicide attack that took place on February 14. About 40 jawans of the Central Reserve Police Force were martyred.
