Samsung Galaxy A20 goes on sale today: Price, specs and how to buy in India

The Galaxy A20 is Samsung’s latest Galaxy A-series phone that was announced in India last week. The Galaxy A20 will go on sale for the first time on April 8 with a price tag of Rs 12,490.

Samsung’s newest Galaxy A-series smartphone, the Galaxy A20, will go on sale in India for the first time today. The company announced the Galaxy A20 last week as an affordable mid-range smartphone that touts a Super AMOLED display, 3D glasstic design, ultra wide-angle camera and a large battery, among other things. The Galaxy A20 falls in between the Galaxy A10 and Galaxy A30 as far as pricing is concerned.

The Galaxy A20 is priced at Rs 12,490 and comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Samsung announced that the Galaxy A20 will be available starting April 8 on the Samsung e-Store, Samsung Opera House, leading e-commerce platforms and retail stores across the country. At the time of writing this story, the Galaxy A20 was yet to be listed on e-commerce stores or Samsung’s official website.

 

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy A20 offers a lot of the same features as the Galaxy M20. It sports a 6.4-inch HD+ (1560×720) Infinity-V Super AMOLED display. Like most other Samsung phones in this segment this year, the Galaxy A20 gets a waterdrop notch to reduce bezels and offer an immersive display.

The Galaxy A20 gets a 3D glasstic rear panel that is being offered in Red, Black and Blue colours. The rear panel sees a fingerprint sensor and a dual camera setup. The camera system includes a 13MP f/1.9 primary sensor and a 5MP f/2.2 sensor with ultra wide-angle lens. The waterdrop notch on the front houses an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Powering the Galaxy A20 is a familiar 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7884 chipset, which is the same SoC inside the Galaxy A10. While the phone comes with 32GB of internal storage, you can expand it by up to 512GB via a microSD card. Notably, the Galaxy A20 ships with with Android Pie-based One UI, which means you get a new interface designed for easier one-handed use and Night Mode, among other things. The Galaxy A20 supports 15W fast charging over Type-C and houses a 4,000mAh battery.
