City-based TV reality star goes international

A 12-year-old student of BCM Arya, Arushi Saxena, is a dancer par excellence who has created magic with her dance moves at various national and international platforms. Daughter of a parents who are doctor and scientist, Arushi aspires to be an internationally acclaimed dancer.

“Sky is the limit but I want to go beyond that”, says the beaming and confident Arushi. She has represented Punjab at the Dance Sports Federation Championship twice and has won gold medals in various dance styles such as Salsa, Chacha and Rumba. Arushi has also represented Punjab through the Dance Sports Association at the All India Sports Federation Championship held at Nasik, Maharashtra, where she won a gold in freestyle belly dancing and Salsa. She has won first prize in various categories at the International Salsa festival held at Chandigarh.

Arushi has been a part of many television reality shows, namely Kis Mein Kitna Hai Dum at Zee Punjabi, Super Dancer Chapter 2 at Sony TV and India’s Next Superstar, where her talent has been highly appreciated by judges from Bollywood. She received a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh. Arushi was declared the best among 60 contestants of Sabse Bada Kalakar, aired at Sony TV, after clearing various rounds at Chandigarh, Delhi, and Bombay.

Recently, she participated in India’s International Dance Congress (IIDC) held at Banglore and won first prize in three categories, Salsa solo, Salsa amature couple and Bachata amature couple.

She devotes around 4 hours daily to her rigorous dance practice. Besides being a passionate dancer, she loves to act, modeling and plays golf. Though her hectic schedule keeps her busy, she continues to excel in studies as well.
