LUDHIANA: The draft electoral rolls for Ludhiana municipal corporation elections were published on Thursday.
Additional district electoral officer-cum-additional deputy commissioner Surabhi Malik said, “The state election commission has issued the programme of revision of electoral rolls ahead of the municipal corporation polls to be held in Ludhiana. Objections and claims in this regard can be filed by January 24 and same would be disposed off by January 31. Final publication of the election rolls will be completed on February 3.
Malik added that those seeking enrolling as a new voter or want correction or deletion, can contact booth-level officers and additional information could be obtained from the district election office.
Residents from ward numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 can approach the estate officer, GLADA, for addition for rectification in the electoral rolls while those from ward numbers 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23, 24, 25 and 26 can go to the office of SDM, Ludhiana East.
For the residents of ward numbers 22, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 40, they will have to go to the office of PWD (B&R) executive engineer, Rani Jhansi Road, while those residing in ward numbers 1, 59, 60, 61, 62, 64, 85, 86, 87 and 88 have been assigned assistant excise and taxation officer-2.
For ward number 8, 20, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58 and 63, it is the office of the secretary, zila parishad, while for ward numbers 43, 44, 45, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70 and 71, it is the office of the tehsildar (Ludhiana Central), Gill Road.
Residents of ward numbers 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 80, 81 and 82 can go to the office of executive magistrate, Ludhiana, those in ward numbers 79, 83, 84, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94 and 95 can approach seminar hall of Government College (boys) while for ward numbers 36, 37, 38, 39, 41, 42, 46, 47, 48, 49 and 50, it is the office of SDM (West).
