IT Dept Suspected Some Deleted Data From The Phones Of Taapsee Pannu And Anurag Kashyap

After conducting a raid at the house of both the Bollywood actress and director Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap, IT Dept revealed that there has been some “deleting of data” from their mobile phones. The development comes a day after the raid was conducted by IT Dept on Thursday at their house and office respectively.

According to India Today, IT officials are taking the help of experts to recover the deleted data. Furthermore, the Central Agency discovered that after the Narcotics Central Bureau (NCB) cracked down on many Bollywood actors and directors after the sudden death of late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput, the mobile data of director Anurag Kashyap, whose properties were also raided by the IT Dept, was also deleted.

As a result, the Income Tax Department’s raids will continue, and director Anurag Kashyap and actress Tapsee Pannu will be summoned again in connection with this case. In a tax evasion case involving director Anurag Kashyap, producer Vikas Behl, producer Madhu Mantena, and actress Tapsee Pannu, the Central Agency raided 22 locations on Wednesday.

Taapsee Pannu and her company are also accused of Rs25 crores in tax evasion, according to reports. Taapsee’s endorsement deals and film signing fees are being investigated by an IT scanner.  Some of the film deals are for less than a crore.

300 crores of undisclosed income, reveals IT Department, Taapsee Pannu received Rs 5 crores in cash

On Thursday, the Income Tax Department had said, “During the search, evidence of huge suppression of income by the leading Film Production house compared to the actual box office collections has been unearthed. The company officials have not been able to explain the discrepancy of around Rs. 300 crore. Evidence related to manipulation and under-valuation of share transactions of the production house amongst the film directors and shareholders, having tax implication of about Rs. 350 crore has been found and is being further investigated”.

Phantom Films, owned by Anurag Kashyap, was also dissolved amid the Mee Too charges, against one of its shareholders, as said by the IT Department. During the raids, the IT Department discovered cash receipts from the “leading actress” totaling Rs 5 crores. Given that Taapsee Pannu was raided, it’s fair to presume that the cash receipts were recovered from her.
