Friends surely become foes in the glamour industry and it is common to see dynamics changing between co-stars after a film or two. A recent statement by Kavita Kaushik ti a leading daily shocked many including us where the actress openly said that she’ll not be doing any more films opposite her Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan co-star Binnu Dhillon.
“It’s a very conscious decision for me that I would work with anyone else, but I am done with doing movies with Binnu Dhillon,” quoted Kavita.
The actress, who made her Punjabi debut with Binnu Dhillon in Vekh Baraatan Challiyan back in the year 2017, further explained the reason for not working with the actor-producer every again. The reason, she specified, was that Binnu Dhillon whom she calls an amazing comedian always wants the best role in the movie. She added that Binnu is only concerned about his own part in the film and nothing else.
According to her, even the script is written according to Binnu Dhillon which eventually revolves around him. He performs the meatiest role and nothing is written for the heroine. She further added that the actress, be it who so ever, is merely eye candy in the film. She confessed that she loved working with him in the first movie Vekh Baraatan Challiyan in which the onscreen couple was appreciated, but in the second movie Vadhayiyaan Ji Vadhayiyaan, she had nothing to do other than dancing and looking good. The actress with so much caliber didn’t like it and wanted to show the audience much more than being pretty on screen.
She also mentioned that the audience which goes to watch these movies, walk into the theatre for Binnu Dhillon and she doesn’t want to be a part of those films and be lost somewhere. She wants to have her own market in the Punjabi film industry and wants to prove that actresses can do much more than just looking pretty and dancing.
The actress is stern that she wants quality over quantity. She wants to do movies with different concepts, unlike Binnu Dhillon movies in which he just wants the girl to be a formality.
This statement came out as a bold revelation and from what we can recall, last year she had quite a different viewpoint about the same co-star. Kavita Kaushik, in an interview to the same daily, said, “Be it him (Binnu Dhillon) as a producer or actor he treats me like a queen.”
This one seems to be quite contrasting and seems like there’s more to this controversy than just the point mentioned above.
Also, Kavita had to be a part of the Smeep Kang directorial Naukar Vahuti Da, but now Kulraj Randhawa is doing the movie with Binnu Dhillon. On the other side, Kavita Kaushik is busy with her upcoming movie Mindo Taseeldarni, where she is paired opposite Karamjit Anmol. Both the movies would be coming out this year.
