As a result of an increasing number of Covid cases in many schools throughout the city, most of the private schools have now decided to conduct only online classes for students for the new session. The schools had earlier decided to hold offline classes for those students who have been promoted to classes X and XII.
Paramjit Kaur, principal of BCM School, told The Tribune- “In terms of the new session’s classes, we will only be offering them online classes. We may turn to offline class once the situation is normalized and Covid is under control”.
Similarly, another leading school in Sarabha Nagar had previously announced that students who have been promoted to class XII will be provided offline classes from March 1st. However, since several other school’s teachers and students were found to be covid positive, so the classes will begin on March 10 and will be held entirely online for the time being.
At the same time, Harmit Kaur, the principal of Nankana Public School, informed that all classes and exams are being conducted offline at her school. She further said that- “ Since we have not got any student or teacher covid positive, we have decided to continue teaching in the offline mode. Even for the new session, classes will be kept offline”
Meanwhile, parents concerned about the rising number of covid cases in schools believe that study should be held online until the vaccination period is over. Even the parents of those students who are teaching in government schools have mocked the government for opening the schools where many students and teachers have been founded covid positive. According to parents, no proper guidelines are being followed in these government schools; no masks or sanitizers are available; which can lead to an increase in rhe covid graph.
