Teen saves money in theaters by faking pregnancy!

Going to the movies is a huge activity for many Americans. If you look at the weekend box office results, it is safe to say the numbers don’t lie.

Many big blockbuster movies have opening weekends with anywhere from $50 million to $150 million made at the box office. In fact, for a huge movie, making only $50 million during its opening weekend is considered a flop!

Movie tickets are not cheap, especially if you get wrangled into seeing a 3D or IMAX movie. You can easily spend anywhere from $10 to $17 on just one ticket at the theater. And that is before you even get to the snacks!

One clever teen thought of a hack to avoid spending extra money at the movies.

Boxes of candy are well over $4, which is twice the cost of a box of candy at the grocery store. Don’t even get me started on how much a large popcorn costs! I feel bad every time I want to order one. Then there is soda, which always comes in either too small or too large of a cup!

The cost of going to the movies would make anyone want to sneak food in. But if you go to a theater like mine, they check your purse, so sneaking food in isn’t an option.

The teen shared their hack on Snapchat and Twitter and it has since gone viral. She appears to be in a craft store, where she found a styrofoam bowl.

She suggests filling the bowl with snacks and then putting it under a shirt and pretending it is a pregnant belly!

This is absolutely genius! How did I never think of this amazing hack before?

The styrofoam bowl probably costs $1. Can you imagine how much money you’d save if you tried this hack?

Sorry guys, you probably can’t get away with this one. But all the more reason to only go to the movies with your female friends!

The images have been shared on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook and everyone agrees that the idea is amazing.
