Virat Kohli’s success story has been an inspiration for many Indians. In just few years he has become a youth icon for his fans all over the world. Due to his energetic image, Kohli has endorsed many popular brands including MRF Tyres, Boost, Puma sports gear, Audi, and Pepsi in last few years. Being a fitness freak himself the Indian captain rejected a million dollar deal with a popular soft-drink company. The reason which he gave for saying no is truly amazing.
Virat was endorsing popular cold drink brand Pepsi from past 6 years but now he has decided not to do it anymore as the contract with Pepsi has been completed and now he feels he should not do it as he doesnt consume cold drinks anymore.
He does not wants to endorse the products just for the sake of making money. “If I myself won’t consume such things, I won’t urge others to consume it just because I’m getting money out of it,” Kohli said in an interview.
“When I started my fitness turnaround, it was more of a lifestyle thing initially. But now I think it has become so important to the sport —everyone’s taking it up in such a big way—that for me it’s become a part of my thinking pattern. If something goes away from that, I would not want to be a part of that or be promoting that. We are actually on the cusp of making some big changes on that front. Things that I’ve endorsed in the past, I won’t take names, but something that I feel that I don’t connect to anymore. If I myself won’t consume such things, I won’t urge others to consume it just because I’m getting money out of it,” he added.
Virat has completely transformed his body in last few years. Being one of the fittest sportsman on the planet, Kohli wants to use his popularity to inspire Indians. Other celebrities should learn from Kohli captain as a lot of people in our country tend to buy things which are endorsed by Bollywood stars and cricketers.
