Whatsapp’s New Mute Feature: For Your Eyes, Not Your Ears

Whatsapp, the most used instant chatting application is always hitting the news because of its constant app updates. Be it facing trolls or taking the appreciation from the users, WhatsApp never fails to take the spotlight.

Whatsapp has now launched a new and tiny feature that will allow the users to mute their videos before posting them on their stories. Though the feature is currently only available on Android devices, it should be coming to iOS soon. However, Apple has yet to announce that the feature will be available on iPhones.

You can find this new Mute Video feature on the video editing screen where a volume icon pops up, which when clicked, will mute the ongoing video.

The feature was introduced to the world by an official tweet by Whatsapp which says-

“For your eyes, not your ears. You can now mute the audio on your videos before adding them to your Status or sending in chat. Now available on Android.”

If you’re an Android user and your WhatsApp account hasn’t got this new feature, you can manually update the app by going to Google Play Store, searching for the app, and then pressing ‘Update.’ As the update should be available, after the official tweet by Whatsapp.

As mentioned earlier, the feature is currently only available for android users, and any android users running the stable and original version of Whatsapp can take advantage of this feature.
